A 1.5 cm cable slot in the back edge lets a charging or security cable come up from under the shelf and into the device without running across the front where customers see it. The cradle tilts 15 degrees so the screen faces someone looking down at it, and the nubuck pad grips enough that the device does not creep down the slope.
